July 29, 2007, 2AM: Played 1 hour, 7 minutes, Made $0.50
$0.05/0.10 Texas Hold'em

The wife is away at her mothers tonight so I had to play. Figure I'd get some experiance at ring tables. Moved up in the blindes so it was more poker playing then the other players throwing money at a hand and hopeing everyone will go away. I played at around 37% yet I'd get scared off hands. Still a little gun shy I guess.
Working my way up to trying to feel comfortable at playing a $1/$2 ring table in Atlanic City.
If I watch myself I might give it a try next month. Get some exsperiance and if so then I think I would need to record the tourney results and the ring play in here.

July 28, 2007, 11PM: Played 1 hour, 2 minutes, Made $0.60
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (3rd out of 9 Players)

Played a sit and go to get a little practice. Not unhappy with the play. Probably could have got to heads up but I pushed my chips in with a 5 7 suited. Not the smartest thing I've done but was getting a little tied. Had a better player I was up against and we had some constructive chat.

July 28, 2007, 9PM: Played 1 hour, 20 minutes, Lost $1.60
Texas Hold'em

Think I found my problem at the ring tables. I played way too many hands. I was in the 40 percentile after 80 hands and was down $4.00. I decided I'd tighten up on my starting hands. That did the trick and I picked up 2 1/2 dollars of my losses. I need to keep that in mind. Also I played at a .02/.05 table to move up a little in my blinds

July 28, 2007, 7PM: Played 1 hour, 10 minutes, Made $0.41
Texas Hold'em

Thought I'd try a ring table because I have such a problem with them. I still do. I do not know what to think. I'm sure because it is just .01/.02 blinds that players take idiotic chances and make idiotic moves. After all it's only a penny or two. I think next month if things go ok I may move up a little with my buy ins and blinds. I plan to go to Altantic City and play my monthly $40 buy in tourney. I do not plan to record it here, but my thought is if I can begin to play on line where it is more poker playing rather then lottery drawings, and I do well, then maybe I can consider not only playing tourneys at the casino but doing a ring table too. That seems like some time from now maybe not long. I do want to feel comfortable about my bank though so it will not be a distraction and I can concentrate on the poker play.

July 27, 2007, 3PM: Played 40 minutes, Lost $1.20
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (1,055th out of 1897 Players)

Not doing too well. Have done better at big tourneys. Ussually on the bubble little in or little out. Had too many beers to be playing poker but that's my problem and not pokers. I talked about how poker players are liars and the structure of a tourney. Thought I'd add this hand to show I can lie too in the beginning of a tourney.

July 27, 2007, 2PM: Played 42 minutes, Lost $1.20
$1 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 9 Players)

Haveing a few too many beers. Not sure where this went wrong. Was thinking about comments I've got about the tournament stucture. Play the tourneys tight at the beginning. If it's multiple tables play it short handed if need be. Yet I think what people are saying at the beginning you have a good stack so why not play it. There is one thing I hate as a player is limpers, I know that many of hands I have taken down because I come in big in position and when people miss the flop and check it's my pot regardless. All in all not unhappy about my play. Yet I wonder where I go wrong at ring tables? I said before I treat myself and go to Atlantic City and play a $40 buy in tourney. Get my feet wet but I'm thinking that if I shell out $100 at a $1/$2 I will I feel uncomfortable? The other blog I said poker players are liars and I'd tell that to their face if it was not for the slim chance they are telling the truth. I think that falls under the feeling that good poker players do not need the stone cold nuts to play. I on the other hand I find that I have a hard time playing with out the stone cold nuts!

July 27, 2007, 1PM: Played 37 minutes, Made $0.22
Texas Hold'em

Well I think the biggest lesson I'm learning today is poker players are liars, and that I would call them that to their face if it wasn't for the slim chance that this time they are telling the truth.

July 27, 2007, 12PM: Played 31 minutes, Lost $3.40
$3 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (6th out of 10 Players)

Thought I'd treat myself to a bigger buy in sit and go. Played well but the problem was I chased some draws. Was getting good pot odds but was not connecting. Not unhappy about the play other then that.
