July 11, 2006, 12AM: Played 12 hours, Made $290.00 at Rio, WSOP
$1,000 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (203rd out of 2891 Players)

Another long day.  Not so long as I decided to make the most of it.  I had fun and did not take myself super seriously.  I rather enjoyed the players at my table, engaged in conversation and made fun of eachother.

Doing this also really helped my play.  I could get a read on people and their experience levels but what and how they would speak.  It also made them respect my bets more as I came off as a "nice guy".  So even if they would re-raise me pre-flop they would 1st say something like, "well, I have to raise you".

This one guy, "BJ", on my left should have busted me like 4 times.  Everytime I escaped with little damage to my stack.  The 1st time I made a mistake with QQ in the BB, he limps UTG, "G" raises from 200 to 1k, it folds around to me and I just call like a pansy.  BJ goes all in, G folds and I lay it down, later he tells me he had AKs.  Coin toss but still, if I had commited first he would have had to fold.

Next situation I raise with JJ, he re-raises, I muck and he showes me KK.  Then again, I raise with TT, re-raises, I fold and he shows me QQ.  Lastly the little fucker raises me with KK when I have AQ.  I lay it down again.

I did make a little mistake towards the end as the blinds caught up to me faster than I thought.  I should have realized this and made a move at the previous round instead of being past my comfort level for a short stack.
Usually I am really good about this but somehow this slipped my mind as I thought I had more time.

All in all I feel good about my results.  Although I am a little embarrassed that this Shannon Elizabeth girl finished one ahead of me.  I suspected she was some model, sports figure or actress as everyone was overly anxious to speak with her and in turn she was overly friendly back to them.  I finally just flat out asked her who she was while waiting for our payouts, but still, how can I let some hot sex sybol actress place one ahead of me?

Good day for DeiYuo, feeling good about the next event, the $3,000 limit omaha hi/lo!
