Just Rambling

Today was horrible. I wasn't into playing since the second I got there. For some reason I feel like poker lately has a lot to do with how your feeling. Like today for example, I felt like shit and still insisted to play. I think I might go home to L.A. and fix my lifestyle/sleeping habits. I would like the 24/7 poker going on as well. Aside from personal things, poker went really shitty today. I ran into 2 cripple spots. I had someone have a higher boat than me. I flopped a set, he turned it. I know i'm due for a good sesh at Sycuan. I will play tomorrow and log. I want to start logging like how I was before.

Back2deepStack buy-ins

I felt very comfortable buying in for 100bbs. I can definitely handle it. I've learned that straddling on the button isn't necessary. I flipped with AK for $80 today, it wasn't necessary, I was out of position and up against a semi-tight reg. However I'm glad It happened since it's good learning pre-Vegas. I also decided not to post wins or losses that are under $10. Any way may the flop, turn, and river be with me, always

Just Rambling!

After taking a week off from poker (due to school), I've learned a lot. I've first off learned that I have to start taking poker more professionally, therefore I have to sacrifice something I love. I also have to start planning my days better, so that I go to casinos during their "peak hours". I have to read on my free time (card players) and be as productive as possible! I also learned a couple of things today:
1) when straddling on the button, use the weak checkers to your advantage (focus mostly at this time, since your guaranteed playing it).

2) if theres a huge pot and A LOT of FISH, don't bet it! (drawy board that is).

I also have to keep my poker mind fresh and not over do it with the hours played. I want to start blogging professionally here. Why not start? it's not too late. I also want to research my Vegas trip more, finding the hottest 100NL max buy in's (starting stacks).

Any way I'll post in here within a week or so!

Misplayed a hand

Today I misplayed a hand.

I had KQ offsuit in early position so i decided to limp/call a short raise, since i was out of posi. and at a very loose table. Fortunately the table limped behind and i got to see a free cheap flop.

FLOP: Q 2 5

I decided to lead out $8 into $10/fold if i got re raised

1 caller.

TURN: Q 2 5 K

This is where i went wrong, I checked (to induce a bluff since the K probably would more than likely scare him off) I was wrong in thinking that because he could easily have 22 or 55 (limped pot). The best thing that i could've done is bet out $20 since he ended up sucking out on me. by betting $20 i can fold to a raise because if a K improved his hand he has KQ minimum.

RIVER: Q 2 5 K 5

I carelessly bet a weird amount quickly ($20ish) and i got insta re-raised all in. He ended up telling me later on that night he had A 5.

Just rambling is a gift!

So i'm near a week and a half of being a regular at Sycuan. I've learned so much about poker and about myself these past couple days. My sessions are getting long and therefore i'm learning a lot. When i'm not in a hand, i'm constantly seeking strategy from other good regs. I'm also making friends with each and every GOOD regular to hopefully soon swap poker theories with them. I had a TILT realization tonight, and fixed it immediately. Tilting in live play is so hard when the money is in front of you. I have to think of going to the casino in every business aspect possible as well.

I'm out, off to the grind tmrw.

A current brief overview

Ok so I thought i'd update myself on what's been going on this past week. Since the online game is out of the picture, I've become a regular @ Sycuan. Since I've been playing live, I've learned how to devlope and protect a stack. I also learned recently the hard way of when to call it quits. Tonight for example, there was no reason for me to take off to the casino at 11 PM. The action was okay and the sickest thing of it all is that I ended up staying till 11AM. That's ridicoulous! Now I have to waste my today Sunday. I will post back up here in a week.

Day 1

Tomorrow will be my first entry of live play. I've learned a lot lately. I need the mindset of being the best player at the table at all times. Even if you think someone is "just as good as you", you still need to regulate and play straight forward. I've learned that I should isolate the shit out of fish, even if i'm depicted as the 'dick' or conservo punk at the table. I need to have intentions of taking down hands whenever i'm in one! I will take 3 BI's tomorrow and a destiny.

to get back on or not

well I feel like I should think about posting again on here some.  I had almost torked off my entire bankroll the last time I logged on here, but I quit with 83 bucks left, I had a bonus that paid me 400 more and all that got me restarted.  I started reading a ton on 2 plus 2 and started using hold em manager (well omaha manager, but same difference).  I am now up well over 2 grand since last I was on here.  My whole idea of the game has changed and I am hoping to get into some decent chat about poker, specifically omaha if anyone is interested.  hope all is well for everyone who reads this site, it's a good site, maybe we can kick start it back up!

BLOG 2

after playing a fairly long session, i'm still hungry to play. my internet's been acting like a bitch but its okay. any way so i was looking at my USD > EV for the month and saw that out of the money I lost for the month (33k hands thus far), I have lost -$618 off of AK and QQ flips. and at times it's not even a flip its just straight up domination.
with that being said i'm going to better pick my spots to spew in (such as maybe spewing in the HJ CO BTN SB BB only). I also looked at my biggest won pots for the month and I saw no AK and no QQ for winning a single stack! now thats just sad. with that being said, my AK play definitely has to slow the fuck down. any way my game is getting a lot more deeper and better due to table decraseage(sp). I'm excited to see with what tomorrow leaves me to learn.

few things I learned today:
-play no more than 8 tables
-slow down
-think before you act on every single decision
-don't auto muck anymore
-observe a persons vpip have to be in order for you to be getting value off 3 bets
-have intentions of taking the hand down every time you play a hand.
-when making a huge decision pre flop, look at the persons PFR and position

Questions to ask:
What do the persons stats have to be in order for you to want to get value you preflop with 99-QQ

UTG play?
