May 26, 2007, 12AM: Played 7 hours, 30 minutes, Made $348.00 at Agua Caliente Casino
$8/16 Texas Hold'em

This game was sick.  Donks gallore.  Had the perfect seat too.

Guy on my immediate right was agro play every hand boy and the guy to his right was similar but would bet more often.

Nate ran bad.. I don't like seeing my friends lose but it was nice to see him grounded and understand what it feels like to run bad against total idiots.  I mean, he would have them screwed til river and they would hit whatever they needed against him.

Myself, I just held my own, played ABC value bet.

We played 6 handed for a bit until the pussies at the other table (also 6 handed) broke their game just to fill our game and have 3 on the list! They ruined our great opportunity at destroying the monkeys but oh well.

This one guy that came to the table was like the "shoe girl".  A player that when wins gloats and talks a lot.  Then if losing will complain and be a whiner.  This guy was worse though as if he drew out on you are made a bone head play that won him the pot he would have to recap the situation.  Then if you ever beat him he would complain and say, "nice catch" = (fuck you, nice suck out) This was terribly annoying to deal with.  Especially since once he got to the table he went on a screaming heater, ran his stack from about $200 into $1600 over about 2 hours.

I kept on my own game and tried to not let this get to me.  He colored up and had about $1100 in black ($100) chips and then about $400 in $2 chips.  Nate thought he would leave with the win had he come off about another 100 or so.  We made a little $5 wager me thinking he would stay and come off them, Nate thinking he would run.

Good thing this guy was a stubborn mother, he came off a ton.  I did have to pull some old school tricks to help him though.

I noticed he did not want to change out his black for $2 chips.. so I got another rack myself so I would have an excess amount of chips.  Then when I noticed he had about 30 chips remaining I asked him if he could sell me $100 and slid the chips into his direction.  He replied, "no, I am leaving after this".

So since I knew once he played that down he would leave I had to monitor his stack carefully.

One hand when I was in SB he limped for his last remaining chips, he even used all his spare $1 chips so he didn't have to break a $100 black chip.  When it came to me I naturally had to raise with my 94 off.  It went back to him and he threw out a black chip, I already had the chips ready to break that sucker.  I did this again for his 2nd black chip in the middle of a hand.  I noticed he had only about 20 chips left on the turn.  There was a bet and raise into him so he had to call 16 chips.  I was on a flush and straight draw but was certain there was a higher flush draw out there. I normally would have folded here or reluctantly called, but in this situation I gladly 3 bet and slid him another 50 chips to brake another one of his black chips.  At the end of the hand he commented about my re-raising then folding.  I mentioned to him the only reason I did this was to take another black chip from him.  This pissed him off and hooked him into staying.

I did this for about $800 worth of his black chips :) He was hooked though after breaking the second one and seeing it lie nicely on my stack.  Eventually we got down to only 3 handed.  I pretty much blinded off, picked off small pots and let the guy to his right take him down to about $200.  At that point I instantly quit to insure he could not recover or go on another rush and destroy my win.

Call me a prick, shit, after reading this I am one when I play poker.  But what the hell, we are playing a "mental war" game and if this guy wasn't such an arrogant prick when he was winning I would have left him alone :)

May 25, 2007, 3AM: Played 2 hours, Made $123.00 at Gold West Casino
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

Picked up a nice little win here after the 6/12 broke down.

I am tired of poker players terrified of playing short handed (less than 7 players).

I love it as the rake is low and you can really "play" poker.

Did pull a nice little 'fuck you pay attention' muck though.
This lady in seat 4 had the SB and was chatting with a friend watching behind her.  The action came to her and the dealer had to promt and wait for her.  This is a pet peeve of mine and is really annoying.  She finally calls and being 1st to act you think she would see the flop, act and then return to her conversation.  Instead she chooses the inconsiderate route of returning to the conversation while the flop is sitting out there and everyone is waiting on her.

So I take it upon myself to speed up the action.  Since I totaly missed the flop and I notice her hand is unprotected I(in seat 7, her in 4) muck my cards in a floating curved manner right into hers.  Now this gets her attention! She knows she can't pick up the cards but again can't distinguish which ones were mine. The player on her left is shouting, "dead hand, dead hand" and the dealer mucks them, she picks out my cards and complains that she flopped two pair exposing her hand.  It would have held up to win a large pot too as we went 6 ways and there was supstancial flop action.

Call me an asshole but pay the fuck attention to the game and protect your hand.

Later she asked, "Who's hand hit mine?"

I happily replies, "Mine".

Then she really looked at how far away I was from her and the muck and was like, "How in the hell did they manage to get over here?"

I replied, "I'm sorry, the fan must have caught them".

Yeah, I'm a dick when I play poker.  Just don't slow down the game.

$6/12 Texas Hold'em

Could not make a hand stand up.  My tempo was off, pushing a bit to quickly.

Did crave and eat some yummy live and onions though ;)

May 24, 2007, 11PM: Played 30 minutes, Made $18.00 at Gold West Casino
$3 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Yeah, a little win while waiting for my 6/12 seat.

Location is great, lots of game selection.  Good friendly staff, decent food (although no asian food oddly enough).

May 24, 2007, 9PM: Played 18 minutes, Made $20.00 at Eagle Mountain Casino
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

Ghetto card room, at another Indian Casino located int he middle of the pit.  Just two tables and one going short handed.

We got the hell out of there quickly.

May 23, 2007, 10PM: Played 4 hours, Lost $353.00 at Tachi Palace
$2/4 Texas Hold'em

We are idiots..

We went here to give Nate's friend Tim a friendly lesson.

Instead we go into agro mode, cover our cards and cap it on all betting rounds for a good 2 hours.  It was a lot of fun and many of the players literally grabbed their chips and ran.  Even a dealer commented, "you guys are scaring off the players".

We finally back off and play "normal" but can't recoup our losses.

Horrible location to play though.

Typical Indian Casino bull shit.  Floor is some hourly paid person that doesn't care or know much about poker policy, dealers are lazy and slow.. etc

May 23, 2007, 9PM: Played 1 hour, 12 minutes, Made $140.00 at Gloria's Card Room
$4 No-Limit Texas Hold'em

Wow, this place was cool.  It is a small friendly local bar with a poker room in the back.  I was very surprised how much money was on the table.

The game was mostly locals who have a territorial thing against out of town players that know what they are doing.

Most of them risk too much money on hands and the game is ripe for the picking.

If I lived closer I would play in this game frequently.

May 23, 2007, 1PM: Played 4 hours, 30 minutes, Lost $174.00 at Merced Poker Room
$3/6 Omaha Hi-Lo

This was the best room of the trip.  Players were all positive, the owner played in the game (found out about 3 hours into the session) ALL the dealers were extremely fast and effiecent, something that is very rare in poker rooms, especially these days.  To have one or two in a room is pleasant but when all 4 dealers are perfect, that is rare.

The game was great, just a cap-fest Omaha 8 game.  This guy went on a screaming heater and ran his $200 into $1000.  I was disappointed in my results but happy with the opportunity to win a chunk and get great action.

May 23, 2007, 11AM: Played 1 hour, Made $290.00 at Turlock Poker Room
$3/6 Texas Hold'em

So after my 2 minutes in the tourney I jump into this 3-6 game and wait again for Nate to finish up.

He goes out quickly and is tired and goes to the car.

So naturally I go on a screaming heater in the cash game while he text messeges me like a little girl exausted from the car begging to leave.

Really though.. we were tired and the game was not only easy but the cards were coming to me as well, dangerous combo for those that know me.

May 23, 2007, 10AM: Played 1 minute, Lost $12.00 at Turlock Poker Room
$12 Buy-In No-Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament (47th out of 50 Players)

I don't know what the hell we were thinking here but... we are getting tired.  It was about 7am and we find out this $12 tourney starts at 10.. only 3 hours to kill, exhausted and hungry.

We roll to Denny's and food como kicks in.. I sleep in the back seat while Nate torments me.  For some reason he does not get the food como like a normal person, I think it is that pet animal he has living in his stomach that intercepts all incoming food.

Anway, we make it to the tourney, I am on the phone (like usuall) and come in 5 minutes late.  I sit down, play one hand, AK vs some agro donks AT or QJ (two face cards), the guy raises pre, I just call, flop is Kxx, I check trap him and he continuation bets with no draw, no pair, I shove, *he should now fold*, but since he is a low limit moron he tries to give me his chips so he can leave early for his mind dumbing job his degenerate ass is already late for.. and backs into a straight.

I get up, Nate at the other table asks, "Wrong seat?"
I snicker and shake my head.  5 minutes later he does the same thing.
